OK folks, I remember telling you that we planned to keep on serving, even if we had to crawl over the finish line. Well, some days are beginning to feel like that, with old bodies, broken bones with ensuing surgery, bad colds, a kitchen floor that was badly damaged and is all torn up, an office that was moving to a new location but got put on hold halfway through, a slight auto accident from storm downed trees, taxes that came due, etc. That all hit within a short time!
Let me tell you something encouraging though. While packing the ministry room and getting things ready for the move, we emptied all the boxes of returned envelopes that were saved from students of BTY over the years. We did not count them, but they would have just about filled two black garbage bags. We used three so they could be carried more easily and disposed of. That is not meant as a bragging effort at all. Some of the folks who use BTY lessons could triple that! It is meant to send a message of encouragement. You can use BTY lessons to reach and teach your friends, loved ones, co-workers, shut-ins, or even inmates.
Even though we are old, broken up a bit, and sick, this weeks’ lessons will be picked up and worked with to return them to the students. Each one will have in it, the corrected lesson, the new lesson, a Bits of Home Chat, two gospel tracts, 2-3 devotional pages, personal letters as needed, and certificates if applicable. Any Bible request will be fulfilled with a KJV Bible purchased from The Bible and Literature Foundation which is a good Bible at a very reasonable price. It is an especially good Bible for inmates, as they must be soft backed Bibles.
OK, we aren’t crawling over the finish line yet, but you probably have a fairly good idea that we aren’t spring chickens either! In fact, there isn’t much spring in us at all these days! Well, maybe some worn out spring, like a 75 or 80 year old Tigger!!! So, let us encourage you to keep serving, keep witnessing of the wondrous way of salvation through Jesus Christ, the Redeemer and coming King! Keep teaching His Word; keep on, keeping on!
